<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress variation in characteristics of active elements in a circuit for driving driven elements such as electro-optical elements. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical apparatus D has a plurality of organic EL elements 10, a plurality of IC chips 37 for pixel driving and IC chips 33 for scanning. Each IC chip 37 for pixel driving has a pixel decoder 371 and a plurality of pixel circuits 377. Each pixel circuit drives the organic EL element 10. Meantime, the pixel decoder 371 performs a selective control for successively selecting one or more pixel circuits 377 and causes the unit circuit to perform an operation for driving the organic EL element 10. The IC chip 33 for scanning selects the one or more IC chips among a plurality of the IC chips 37 for pixel driving sequentially and allows the pixel decoder 371 of the selected IC chips to perform the selective control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
