<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter assembly which can be safely and surely inserted to an objective place with a simple operation and has a wide variety of choices of an insertable catheter for treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The catheter assembly 1 has an external catheter 2 and an internal catheter 6. The external catheter 2 and the internal catheter 6 respectively have catheter bodies 3, 7 in which an inner layer, a reinforcing material layer, and an outer layer are laminated, and flexible soft tips 4, 8 provided to the front end sides of the catheter bodies 3, 7. When the three-point bending stress at the front end part 33 of the external catheter body 3 is made as F1[gf] and the three-point bending stress at the front end part 73 of the internal catheter body 7 is made as F2[gf], F1-F2 is ≥ 10[gf] and crushing strength of the external catheter body 3 and the internal catheter body 7 is ≥ 300[gf] and ≥ 100[gf] respectively. When the outer diameter and the inner diameter of the external catheter 2 are respectively made as D<SB>1</SB>, d<SB>1</SB>and the outer diameter and the inner diameter of the internal catheter 6 are respectively made as D<SB>2</SB>, d<SB>2</SB>, D<SB>2</SB>/D<SB>1</SB>is 0.8-0.95, d<SB>2</SB>/d<SB>1</SB>is 0.8-0.95, and D<SB>2</SB>/d<SB>1</SB>is 0.9-0.99. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
