<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight structure in which the cost of materials to be used for an FPC (flexible print circuit) is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device which is equipped with a backlight, is further equipped with a light guide plate and an LED on the lower surface side thereof and carries out liquid crystal display driving by mounting a strip-shaped FPC 31 thereon, the FPC 31 has a nearly T-shaped or unciform protruding part 31e laterally ramifying from a side of the strip. At least one LED 34 is mounted on the side of a tip part 31g of the T-shaped unciform protruding part 31e. The protruding part 31e is twisted by 90° and bent.
