PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of displaying a moving picture file partially deleted from an instructed frame.

SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus is configured as follows. A display position determining section 401 particularizes the frame of an edit point. A decode frame particularizing section 402 particularizes the frame required to decode the frames after the edit point (hereinafter called decoding frames). An unnecessary frame particularizing section 403 particularizes unnecessary frames not utilized for display and decoding, and a video/audio file management section 304 deletes the unnecessary frames from a video file 411. A display start position setting section 404 sets a frame whose display is started on the basis of the number of the decoding frames. A time code of the frame whose display is started is appended to a clip information file 421. The information processing apparatus can be applicable to e.g., photographing apparatuses.
