PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set and confirm the shape and dimension parameters of a tank of a liquid level meter that measures the liquid level of a cylindrical storage tank. SOLUTION: The liquid level meter is constituted of a sensor 20 measuring the height of the surface level of a liquid contained inside a cylindrical tank and a controller for calculating the volume of a liquid in the vessel, based on the liquid level. A controller 10 contains a vessel parameter setting means 16a for setting the vessel volume; diameter and placing direction of the vessel, in advance; a shell length calculating means 16b for calculating the length of the vessel from the volume of the set vessel and the diameter; and a volume calculating means 16c for calculating the volume of liquid in the vessel, based on the liquid level measured with the sensor 20. The diameter and the placing direction set by the vessel parameter setting means 16a, and the shell length calculated by the shell length calculating means 16b are stored as a program in a ROM16.
