PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress blur and lack of hiding at the boundary of an image having the boundary of two different color regions. SOLUTION: The printer has a head for forming a plurality of color dots by ejecting a plurality of color ink drops toward a medium and can print an image having a boundary of two different color regions by the dots thus formed. When a decision is made that the total quantity of ink drops forming the dots for a specified range along the boundary in each region exceeds a specified threshold level, ink drops are ejected to reduce the total quantity for the specified range.
