PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform easier update processing by improving the convenience of a recording medium. SOLUTION: When an edit list is recorded on a disk 32, a reference information generation part 81 generates its reference information and an index file management part 72 adds the reference information to an index file. When the edit list is deleted, a reference information deletion part 83 deletes the reference information corresponding to the edit list. When a clip is deleted from the disk 32 and reference information is added to its clip element, a reference information confirmation part 82 performs warning processing before the clip is deleted. When the reference information corresponding to the edit list is updated as the edit list recorded on the disk 32 is updated, the reference information confirmation part 82 controls respective parts to update the index file.
