PURPOSE: A mounting assembly is provided to lower temperature of a lamp glass tube and an amalgam tip and improve operation of a lamp by preventing a reflector from being heated by a ferrite transformer core. CONSTITUTION: A mounting assembly(10) comprises a housing(14) having an inner surface(16) and an outer surface(18); a pair of spaced-apart heat sinks(20,21) attached to the inner surface of the housing and extended from the inner surface; a reflector(22) including two apertures(24,26) aligned with the heat sinks, wherein the reflector is disposed in the housing; heat insulators(28,29) arranged to surround each of the heat sinks in the apertures and thermally insulate the reflector from the heat sinks; and an electrodeless lamp(100) mounted on the heat sinks.
