A printing press has a printing cylinder (20) which operates the counter pressure of a rotating drum (16). The drum is made of a material that has a coefficient of linear thermal expansion around the circumference of less than 2 x 10-6 K-1. The material is e.g. a compound material containing e.g. carbon fibre.
