PURPOSE: A continuously variable intake system is provided to improve acceleration responsiveness, and to increase output of the engine by varying the length of the intake passage as well as the sectional area of the intake passage according to the change of the operational range of the engine. CONSTITUTION: A rotor(40) is rotated spirally and formed cylindrically in a housing(30) of an intake manifold, and a baffle(42) is formed spirally between the inner periphery of the housing and the outer periphery of the rotor. A penetration hole(43) is formed in the rotor to guide intake air from the rotor to an intake passage(32) formed by the pitch of the baffle. The length of the intake passage is adjusted by rotating the rotor spirally and by moving back and forth. The cones are formed repeatedly and inclined corresponding to the outer periphery of the rotor in the inner periphery of the housing. The distance from the penetration hole to the runner as the length of the intake passage between the outer periphery of the rotor and the inner periphery of the housing is adjusted, and the sectional area of the intake passage is varied.
