Colored granulate (A), for further processing as filler in molded objects or as coating for surfaces, comprises (in)organic colored pigments (I) and at least one (in)organic binder. The new feature is that (I) includes at least one material (III), or composition, the color of which can be altered by changing a physical quantity that acts on the filler. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) plastic molded object containing (A) in which (I) includes at least one dye (Ia) with hydrochromic, piezochromic, photochromic, phosphorescent and/or thermochromic properties; and (2) coating mixture containing (A) in which (I) includes at least one (Ia).
