PURPOSE: A system and a method for a taxi call service using a GPS(Global Positioning System) terminal are provided to offer the taxi call service by communicating with a position tracing terminal equipped with the GPS of the taxi and a mobile terminal equipped with the GPS of the passenger. CONSTITUTION: A call receiver(210) confirms information of a passenger GPS terminal(110), receives service request information of a taxi from a taxi GPS terminal(310), and periodically updates position information and loaded/empty taxi information. A taxi distribution manager(220) selects the empty taxi within a predetermined distance from the passenger GPS terminal based on the information of the passenger GPS terminal and the position information of the taxi GPS terminal. A communication part(230) receives a service reception message from the selected taxi, transmits taxi information to the passenger GPS terminal, and transmits passenger information to the taxi GPS terminal. A database(240) stores the passenger information and the taxi information. |
