A knitting method to lock the leading end of a knitting yarn in the fabric, using a flatbed knitter with at least two needle beds, involves forming a catch loop on a needle (d,f) of the trailing bed (H) in one slide movement direction. In the opposite slide movement direction, a catch loop is formed on the needles (c,g) following the occupied needles (d,f). With the slide moving in the first direction, the initial catch loops on the needles (d,f) are knitted into stitches and a catch loop formed on the next needle (e). In the reversed slide movement, a catch loop is formed on needles (B,J) at the leading bed (V) and, in the first slide movement direction, the stitches (d,f) at the trailing bed are transferred to the facing needles (D,F) at the leading bed. |
