Shielded ribbon cable comprises electrical conductors (14) arranged in a casing (15) as insulator made from extruded plastic, and a screen formed as a vaporized layer (16) made from an electrically conducting material on the casing. The casing is made from polyethersulfone, polyetherimide, polyethernaphthalate or their derivatives or mixtures. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Process for the production of screened ribbon cable; and (2) Device for coating ribbon cable with electrical conductors.
