<p>The sides of a trailer for transporting bulk goods are made by joining together two or more double walled sheets by means of a special joint at the ends of the sheets. Each sheet is of light construction, made rigid by a set of hollow pockets (5) formed by partitions between the inner nd outer layers. These pockets terminate in a single layer at the end, and at one end, the sheet is terminated by a bulbous ridge (8a) containing a pair of grooves (8) at an angle to each other. At the other end, the sheet carries a pair of fingers (6, 7) which extends inwards at the same angle as the grooves (8). By use of a suitable pressure tool, the fingers are forced into the grooves to form a tight joint.</p> |
