The arrangement (30) for operating a brake pedal (16) of a motor vehicle brake system has a device (36) for reversible attachment to the brake peal and a device (38) for reversible mounting in the motor vehicle. The distance between the two devices can be increased by operating the arrangement by muscle power. The arrangement has a jacking device and displacement limiting (52). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a motor vehicle with a brake system (b) and a method of operating a brake pedal.
