The invention relates to the use of agricultural grains, plant parts thereof, and grinding residues as adsorbers for decontaminating waters that are polluted with chlorinated hydrocarbon, said adsorbers acting as adsorbing material without undergoing any modification. Preferably, untreated wheat bran, sunflower seeds, sunflower chaff, and corn stalks are used.
