摘要 <p>An intermediate layer is applied as a fluid resin onto a rigid base plate and polymerized by irradiating with ultraviolet (UV) light in either normal atmosphere or under a protective gas or gas mixture to produce a gelled base layer. The base layer is now capable of supporting a glass plate which is floated on top in an oxygen free atmosphere. Further curing of the base layer is effected by directing the UV beam through the glass plate onto the layer below. An intermediate layer is applied as a fluid resin onto a rigid base plate and polymerized by irradiating with ultraviolet (UV) light in either normal atmosphere or under a protective gas or gas mixture to produce a gelled base layer. The base layer is now capable of supporting a glass plate which is floated on top in an oxygen free atmosphere. Further curing of the base layer is effected by directing the UV beam through the glass plate onto the layer below. Curing occurs on a flat horizontal base. An edge forming a border around the fluid resin is made of a material which does not adhere to a UV cured casting resin. The edge forms a greater surface area than the layers to be laminated and has a hermetically sealing cover which retains a natural and/or a protective gas atmosphere.</p>
