The invention relates to container for holding a fluidic biological sample while undergoing nucleic acid amplification, said container comprising an optically clear material holding less than 1 ml of a sample, further comprising:
a) a capillary tube portion which is closed at one end; andb) a funnel-like shaped portion joined to the open end of the capillary tube portion. Systems comprising the containers, and their use are also provided.
