PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting weeds in a farm land is provided to mechanically detect weeds growing between crops being cultivated by using a mechanical scheme based on optical-electronic-computer technique. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for detecting weeds in a farm land is adhered at a vehicle, which travels the farm land in order to spray herbicide or in order to mechanically remove weeds. The apparatus for detecting weeds is mounted at a tractor or installed in an airplane. The apparatus includes hardware including a personal computer and a software for detecting weeds of the farm land. The hardware includes a CCD camera equipped with an optical filter and a lens, a standard reflective body, the personal computer, and a board for processing an image.
