[Also in Division H1] An electric lamp comprising a glass bulb containing a light-emitting filament has on its outer surface a coating of a first film not greater than 1 mil thick of transparent, coloured cellulosic lacquer and an outer film not greater than 0.5 mil thick of clear polycarbonate resin which is a poly (bispheniol-A- carbonate) of intrinsic viscosity of about 0.97. The cellulosic resin may be nitrocellulose, ethylcellulose, cellulose acetate or cellulose acetate butyrate. The polycarbonate may be applied in solution in a chlorinated solvent and a diluent sufficient to provide a solution containing about 4% by weight solids. The cholorinated solvent may 'be methylene choloride or 1, 1, 2-trichloroethane. The diluent may be 1, 1, 2-trichlonoethylene. |
