PURPOSE: A radio helical antenna and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to achieve improved performance of an antenna by enhancing radiation pattern characteristics and minimizing the distortion caused due to the antenna structure. CONSTITUTION: A radio helical antenna comprises a ring part(10a) formed along the circumference of an antenna rod(1) and which has a C-shape with an open side; and a plurality of connecting parts(10b) interconnecting the ring parts. The ring parts are arranged at a constant spacing along the antenna rod. A method for manufacturing a radio helical antenna comprises a first step of forming a groove corresponding to the shapes of the ring part and the connecting part, at the circumferential surface of the antenna rod; a second step of plating the antenna rod in such a manner that the groove is filled with a conductive material; and a third step of removing the conductive material from the surface of the antenna rod, leaving the conductive material in the groove.
