Preparation of derivatives of erythromycin A comprises forming intermediates for preparation of 6-O-methyl-erythromycin A (clarythromycin). 9-O-aryl derivatives of 9-oxime of erythromycin A are obtained for purification of the raw product by formation of a thiocyanate salt.
