PURPOSE: A two-way shift register and a display apparatus having the two-way shift register with reduced manufacturing cost are provided to reduce an inspection terminal region by checking the two-way shift register using an output of an inspection signal switch. CONSTITUTION: A shift register(21) comprises a plurality of flip-flops operated in synchronization with a clock signal and switches a shift direction according to a direction indication signal inputted from an outside. A first waveform converter(26) receives signals outputted from a first terminal flip-flop out of the flip-flops and converts a waveform of each of the received signals. A first switch(25) receives the signals whose waveforms are converted by the first waveform converter and signals outputted from a second terminal flip-flop. The first switch switches some of the receives signals according to the direction indication signal to output them.
