LCD FOR PREVENTING THE BREAKING OF A PAD AND PERFORMING A TAP PROCESS REPAIR PROCESS EASILY AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the breaking of a pad and a performing TAP(Tape Automated Bonding) repair process easily by forming a plurality of contact holes in an insulating layer covering the pad. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pad electrodes(92) are connected to the ends of a plurality of signal lines(52). An insulating layer is formed to cover the pad electrodes, wherein each of the signal lines has a plurality of contact holes(78) for exposing the pad electrodes. Each of the pad electrodes is directly connected to a conductive film through the contact holes. The signal line is capable of a gate line, a data line, or a common line. Even though a portion of the pad electrode is torn out due to frequent TAP repair processes, the pad electrodes is still connected to a TCP(Tape Carrier Package) through the holes in pad electrode portion which is not torn out.
