PURPOSE: A cylindrical secondary battery is provided to increase the capacity, to prevent the deformation of an electrode assembly and to improve the safety by securing the flowing passage of gas. CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical secondary battery includes an electrode assembly(10) formed by winding a negative electrode plate(12), a positive electrode plate(14) and a separator(13) disposed between them in a jelly-roll type, so that the negative electrode plate(12) can be disposed on a surface of the internal center; a cylindrical can(20) in which the electrode assembly(10) is accommodated and which is connected electrically with the negative electrode plate(12); a cap assembly(30) which is fit into the upper part of the can(20) and which is connected electrically with the positive electrode plate(14); and a center pin(50) which is inserted into the center of the electrode assembly(10) to be in contact with the negative electrode plate(12) and of which a portion is welded onto a bottom side of the can(20), so that the negative electrode plate(12) and the can(20) can be electrically connected. |
