PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to minimize an alignment margin in a process of coupling of a lower substrate and an upper substrate, thereby enhancing display quality and aperture ratio by forming a light detection element, a color filter and a light shield pattern with a driving unit and a pixel electrode in a single substrate. CONSTITUTION: An LCD comprises the first substrate(100), the second substrate(200) and a liquid crystal layer(300) between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a pixel voltage-applying element in the first portion of a pixel region, light detection elements(146,148) for outputting a signal about position information generate by an external light in the second portion of the pixel region, a color filter(132), a pixel electrode(150) on the color filter, a light shield layer(160) on the pixel electrode. The second substrate includes a common electrode(220).
