METHOD, SYSTEM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM FOR MIRRORING DATA BETWEEN SITES USING P2P RELATIONSHIP

PURPOSE: A method, a system, and a recording medium for mirroring data between sites using a P2P(Peer-to-Peer) relationship are provided to mirror the data between a main storage site and a sub storage site by using a write mode different to each situation in order to optimize performance of a mirroring operation. CONSTITUTION: A main storage controller(2a) and a sub storage controller(2b) are communicated through connection(4). Each storage controller respectively has storage management software(6a,6b) and attached storage systems(8a,8b). The storage system includes volumes(10a-10n or 12a-12m). The connection includes a dedicated line or the network such as an optical fiber connection, the SAN(Storage Area Network), and the LAN(Local Area Network), or includes the intranet or the Internet in alternation. The storage management software mirrors tracks in a source volume to the tracks of a target volume by storing duplication relationship information(14) for identifying the source track and the corresponding target track included in a volume pair.
