METHOD FOR DELETING A BROADCASTING PROGRAM IN A PVR SYSTEM TO CONSIDERABLY SECURE THE STORING CAPACITY OF AN HDD

PURPOSE: A method for deleting a broadcasting program in a PVR(Personal Video Recorder) system is provided to considerably secure the storing capacity of an HDD(Hard Disk Driver) by successively deleting broadcasting programs of a low preference genre among previously stored broadcasting programs when a residual storing capacity of the HDD is insufficient. CONSTITUTION: If the reproduction of a PVR system is selected, the CPU reproduces a selection broadcasting program recorded in an HDD(S10). The CPU stores a genre of the reproduced broadcasting program(S20). The CPU judges whether a residual storing capacity of the HDD is less than a set value(S30). If the residual storing capacity of the HDD is less than the set value, the CPU retrieves a reproduction genre preference of the stored program(S40). The CPU selects a broadcasting program of a low preference genre among the broadcasting programs stored in the HDD(S50). The CPU deletes the selected broadcasting program(S60).
