COATING COMPOSITION FOR USE IN SLIDING MEMBERS COMPRISING POLYAMIDE-IMIDE RESIN AND SOLID LUBRICANT

PURPOSE: Provided is a coating composition for use in sliding members, which is capable of forming a sliding film having satisfactory sliding properties. CONSTITUTION: The coating composition for use in sliding members is obtained by mixing a polyamide-imide resin and a solid lubricant, wherein at least one of the following requirements is satisfied: (I) the glass transition temperature of the polyamide-imide resin is 270 or above; (II) the tensile strength of the polyamide-imide resin at room temperature is 200 MPa or more; and (III) the polyamide-imide resin contains more imide groups than amide groups. In the composition, the solid lubricant comprises polytetrafluoroethylene, and an isocyanate component, which is a crude material of the polyamide-imide resin, contains 5 to 90 mol% of 3,3'-dimethylbiphenyl-4,4'-diisocyanate.
