PURPOSE: A method for online settlement under an EMV(Europay, Mastercard, Visa) environment using an IC card is provided to save expense for constructing the EMV environment and construct the EMV environment at a high speed by allowing a current terminal to certify a cash/debit/credit card changed to the IC card through a pin pad accepting the EMV. CONSTITUTION: The pin pad(700) comprises a display window(100), a keypad(200), a communication port(300), a magnetic card reader(400), and an IC card reader(500). The pin pad is connected to the communication port of an inquiry terminal. Information of the IC card is transmitted to the inquiry terminal by inserting the IC card into the IC card reader of the pin pad. The inquiry terminal performs the settlement by transmitting the information to a VAN(Value Added Network) server through the network. |
