PURPOSE: A method of producing functional rice by soaking rice in sosihotanggajihwang which is described in the book of Eastern Medicare is provided. The product has treating effect on hypertension and complications associated with hypertension. CONSTITUTION: In the method for production of the functional rice, 350g of herbs containing 60g of Bupleuri Radix, 50g of Rhizoma Pinelliae, 30g of Scutellariae Radix, 30g of Paeoniae Radix, 30g of Fructus Jujubae, 30gof Ginseng Radix, 20g of Glycyrrhizae Radix, 40g of Zingiberis Rhizoma and 60g of Rehmanniae Radix are extracted. Then, rice is soaked in the herbal extract while turning upside down every 2hr and then dried for a predetermined period of time.
