PURPOSE: A disk lifting device and a disk drive using the lifting device are provided to lift up a top end of a lifter by an interworking action between a lifting cam and a lifting driving cam, so that a disk can be definitely separated from an upper surface of a tray in unloading state, thereby easily handling the disk. CONSTITUTION: An external unit configures a set appearance by forming a front surface by a front panel having an entrance. A main body(28) is installed with various components for recording/reproducing processes of a disk. A tray(30) is slidingly installed on the main body(28), and transfers the disk while moving inside and outside the external unit through the entrance. A lifting unit comprises a disk setting unit(36), and lifts up at least one-sided edge of the disk from an upper surface of the tray(30) when the tray(30) is projected outside through the entrance.
