The panel has multiple pixels and a piston (5) with white head. Each pixel produces an image point and has an envelope (3) containing a color ink (4). A magnetic actuator (6) moves the piston between front and back positions such that a visible appearance of the image point corresponds to the white color in the front position, to the ink color in the back position, and to an intermediate hue in an intermediate position.
