The engine has a turbocharger (20) with a turbine cover connected to an exhaust manifold. The turbocharger is fixed on a cylinder block (12) by a connecting flange (36). The flange has a ring portion (46) which is made of same material as the flange. The ring portion is mounted tightly on a maintenance shaft (48) fixed on the cylinder block (12). The ring portion, split ring and the shaft are mounted by hooping.
