<p>The pneumatic locking cap for testing pipelines of various rated diameter can be inserted through an interface with a relatively small diameter provided within the wall of the pipeline, and is designed for high operating and downtime pressures in order to ensure good sealing, while the concept of the locking cap also includes the property of being resistant to mechanical damage, which could occur during inserting or removal of the locking cap through the lateral opening, which is quite often featuring sharp edges. The locking cap according to the invention is made as a rotational ellipsoid, while the wall thickness (8) of the element (1) is getting thinner towards the centre and can include a rubber cord (9), which can run in several, preferably two layers in such a way that one cord (9) is located staggered into one direction regarding the longitudinal axis of the element (1) and the other cord (9) is staggered into the other direction at an angle alpha, measured from the axis of symmetry usually measuring between 0 and 20 degrees.</p> |
