A continually-operated chipboard manufacturing press has upper and lower press frames acting on a mass of wood particles and bonding agents. One or more load-bearing plates with insulation panels are located between the upper and lower press frames and the respective pressing plate. The insulation panels are transposed with respect to the press piston cylinder direction of operation.
