The invention relates to a method for obtaining an image quality indicator, used as main element for estimating the relative sensitivity of a radiographic image. The method for obtaining a quality indicator of the radiographic image, which allows to avoid the interpretation ambiguity in the radiographs, under an angle where some geometric projections may appear, is characterized in that, based on the cylindrical symmetry, carries out the pointing out and characterizing of the most welding, casting. extruding defects etc.,encountered in practice both for metal and plastic materials, the indicator being made up of the same material as the part to be subjected to radiography and comprising two steps of various thicknesses and cyclindrical holes, full or void, which are correlated allowing to characterize a radiograph both under the aspect of the contrast and under the aspect of the relative sensitivity and of the radiographic definition, and thereby, an increased security in the radiographic evaluation and interpretation.
