A skin-compatible tattoo application system (1) in the form of a transfer image (2) for application to the body surface is such that the tattoo of the application system (1) shows easy removal of the applied tattoo (2) by wash water without skin irritation. An independent claim is also included for such an applicator comprising (a) a starch coating (6) on a substrate (5); (b) on layer (6) an elastic carrier layer (3) with sideways reversed graphic features; (c) a skin-friendly bonding layer (4); and (d) a combination (3, 4) forming the transfer image (2) which is dermatologically-acceptable and non-allergenic the substrate (5, 6) being removable after pressure application to the skin and the tattoo (2) being removable after a time by water, skin cream and/or skin oil.
