A fluid heater, especially for gases, comprises a guide tube (10) with a non-conductive (11) covering and a heating element (14) embedded in an opening (13) in the cover. There is a further contact point (12) to the tube in a second opening in the cover. An independent claim is also included for a heater as above having the heater in a recess in the cover separated from the tube.
