Assembly to clean the waste water from washing machines, has a vessel with a tubular wall (5) to take the waste water which is fitted with two insulated electrodes (2,4) to generate a voltage field, with at least one electrode within the vessel. A high voltage unit (3) generates a pulsed direct voltage of >=1 kV and preferably >=20 kV and especially >=70 kV in a pulse frequency of 500 Hz to 200 kHz.
