<p>The box for electrical equipment or electronic circuits comprises a piece of folded sheet metal. The sheet (10) has three main panels (18, 20, 22) separated by two rows of elongated holes (28). At the sides of the panel are lips (12, 14) folded inwards to provide protection against the cut edges, and to provide surfaces (16) to which components inside the box may be attached. Bolt holes (30) are provided in these lips. Components may be fitted to the inside wall of the box while it is still flat, and only then need the box be folded into its rectangular shape. The rows of holes (28) form the folding lines, and they weaken the sheet sufficiently to allow folding by hand. No special equipment is needed to fold the boxes, which may be stored flat prior to use. Plastic coating may be applied to the metal before folding.</p> |
