PURPOSE: A device for opening/closing a door by using a bidirectional wireless pager and a controlling method therefor are provided to receive a door open/close signal consisting of a door number and a password received from a door opening/closing management device, and to open/close a door according to the received signal, thereby quickly coping with a loss of a bidirectional wireless pager. CONSTITUTION: A controller(200) overall controls a door opening/closing action. A memory(210) stores an execution program and data generated while carrying out the program. The memory(210) stores various display data and door open/close data. An opening/closing device(230) opens/closes a door under control of the controller(200). A display(220) displays the display data. A receiver(240) receives a door opening/closing signal delivered from a bidirectional wireless pager to demodulate the signal, and outputs the demodulated signal. The controller(200) receives the signal, compares whether the signal is identical with the door open/close data, and controls the door opening/closing action.
