A process for producing bisphenol A comprises subjecting a phenolic slurry (1) of bisphenol A to filtration so as to form a layer of crystalline adduct on the filter, washing the layer with a washing liquid, dissolving the resulting layer in a phenol-containing liquid, subjecting the obtained solution to crystallization to form a phenolic slurry (2) of bisphenol A, and centrifuging the slurry (2) to sediment the crystalline adduct.
