Seating unit with crossbar seat support

The seating unit (20) has a seat (23) supported on a base (21) including housing and a support arm extending to each side of the housing. A seat-supporting structure includes a crossbar that is pivotally attached to a slide unit and side frame sections extending from the cross bar. A spring is coupled to the slide unit to bias a U-shaped back frame and the supporting structure towards their respective upright positions. The seat-supporting structure supporting the seat is operably positioned in spaced relationship to the housing and is biased against the movement in one direction.
