<p>A rubber composition which comprises a rubber and, dispersed therein, a filler having a layer structure and having been treated with an alkyl ammonium salt having a short chain alkyl; and a filler having a layer structure and having been treated with an alkyl ammonium salt having a short chain alkyl. The rubber composition is excellent in gas-barrier properties and also in vulcanization characteristics.</p>
