A ring compression device has pressing members (2) that are arranged in a radial pattern with a head of each pressing member oriented to the center axis (O) of a base body (1) and are made proceedable and recedable relative to the center axis (O) on a predetermined plane, a pivoting body (3) provided on the base body (1) so as to be pivotable about the center axis (O), and follower means (25, 32) advancing the head of each pressing member (2) toward the center axis (O) as the pivoting body (3) pivots and applying a load, from the outside of a ring, by the head of each pressing member (2). Further, engagement means (16, 26) engaging the ring are provided at the heads. Holding means (7) for positioning and holding, relative to the center axis (O), an object to be installed is also provided.
