An independent claim is included for applying vacuum to a manifold assembly comprising connecting a vacuum source to a port (13) of the manifold assembly in which the filter plate is positioned between the base and collar, where vacuum is applied to the manifold from a vacuum source for forcing a collar into a sealing engagement with a base and the filter plate without causing movement of the filter plate.
