The invention relates to the field of diagnostic of microorganisms, more particularly the detection and differentiation of mycobacteria associated with tuberculosis disease. The invention describes novel, particularly suitable primers and gene probes enabling very specific and highly sensitive differentiation and detection of mycobacteria, including the differentiation of MTB complex. The invention also has the aim of providing an assay for differentiating and detecting mycobacteria, which can be easily and rapidly carried out. An essential part of the invention is the multiplex method for simultaneous detection and differentiation of MTB complex involving different genomic structures. |
