Liquid gas, eg LPG, CNG, LNG or hydrogen, is supplied under high pressure to the inlet 10 whence it enters a first chamber 1 in which it is vaporised and depressurised. The vapour passes through apertures 8 to a second chamber formed in an adjustment pin 7 that sits in a seat and is adjusted to a known pressure, eliminating the need for a diaphragm and spring system. The vapour then passes to a sleeve aperture 6 in which there is a plunger 5 actuated by a stepper motor 25 under the control of a computer connected to a combustor, eg i.c. engine, so that the plunger 5 regulates flow of vapour to the outlet 23. The body 2 may be heated electrically, eg by heating element 24.
